Scam: A fraudulent business scheme. Fraudulent comes from the Latin word fraud, which means deceit. Deceiving someone means to trick them.

FACT: There is no activity (stock trading, charities, law firms, medical doctors, religion, M.L.M, government, etc.) that does not have a history of fraudulent activities.

In looking at scams, it is important to locate the actual source that is creating the scam; there is ALWAYS at least ONE person.

Illegal Pyramid Scheme


An illegal business that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, usually without any product or service being delivered.

Sometimes there may appear to be a product - but it's only there to "look" like a real business. Few people outside of the pyramid desire the product or they can get the same product elsewhere at a less expensive price.

If you enrolled me into your business and I paid $300 to join BUT THERE WAS NO VALUABLE PRODUCT THAT WAS EXCHANGED - that could be an illegal pyramid.

This does not mean that M.L.M is an illegal pyramid because people enroll others into a business. The fine line between legal M.L.M and illegal pyramid scheme (according to the Federal Trade Commission - FTC) is the exchange of a real product.

Yet, if you enrolled me and I bought $300 worth of products to see if I want to do the business - then that is NOT an illegal pyramid as long as the product is a "real" product and not some gimmicky product.

Most legitimate M.L.M companies give a thirty day 100% refund on products if you don't like them. And if you buy inventory to sell and then change your mind about the business, most legitimate M.L.M companies will give you back 90% of the purchased price.

I answer the question, "Is it a pyramid?" this way. "Yes it is." That is an affirmative answer. You did not tell your prospect that they were wrong. You affirmed their thinking with "yes it is." This answer keeps them from feeling upset because you said they were right. Tell them "No it isn't" and the brick wall between your prospect and you has became higher and wider instead of coming down. Thus making the rest of your conversation more difficult. But because you answered in the affirmative now you can teach them what is a pyramid. So now you can ask them empathically, " Prospect, where do you work?" They answer, "The rubber band plant on the north of town." You then say,"Well, in your company, Prospect, may anyone in the rubber band plant earn more than the owner,CEO, President, etc.?"

I knew going back to being a supervisor in the LTL industry and shoving money into the company's 401(k) plan for the next twenty years was not going to work and was a terrible plan. Why? Well 401(k) plans are mutual funds and mutual funds are nothing put paper investments that are tied to the stock market and everyone should know the stock market is not a place you can passively invest in. You have to know what you are doing to invest in the stock market to make money or you will lose it. The 401(k) plan representatives will tell you mutual funds is a great way to diversify your investments but a mutual fund is just a part of a stock and the stocks are paper investments. They do not give you options to invest in real estate, that you literally own, a business, or gold and silver. Tangible investment that you can see and touch.

Going to work for the next twenty years making me seventy years old plus is not realistic because being a working supervisor, the companies I work for will want younger less expensive person to do what I do. So no one is looking out for me but I am expected to look out for the company's bottom line and retire poor on the governments dole. So I started looking at going to college to become a teacher. With government student loans, after I graduate and become certtified to teach students, I would just be further in debt at a time when my bills should be winding down or disappearing. But, of course, I had no idea what I should do. I was totally broke and I knew I could not start up a business of my own without capital. What do I do?

Of course, I started looking for work. Not much luck there because of high unemployment, my age, health and other factors. Economic Change-What are we looking at?

We have seen change come. In our history,just to name a few, we saw the development of the automobile. The horse and buggy mode of transportation is just a romantic ride in a large city now. We had the baby boom generation that has fueled just about everything from the use of the automobile to the laptop computer. We went to the moon and after that developed space stations and shuttles. Our country, with Ray Kroc,established the fast food industry,now McDonalds is all over the world. Just about anything that was imagined was invented. More inventions are on their way to make life more simpler but not easier unless you are willing to change.

What will change is the way you work and live? I predict soon most office jobs will be home based jobs because it will be cheaper to buy a computer than rent a large building. As people become more internet savvy and the use of social sites become more predominate the way you work,get paid,your benefits, your commute,your family,your children and your education will be affected by the internet. Change will happen more rapidly as the government struggles with health care and the cost of running the government. Many doctor appointments will be held over the internet to drive down the cost of health care. Airlines will no longer depend on business flights because the internet can set up a conference with your team around the world on a moments notice. Business will be able to speak to their clients through the computer and not have to fly to see them. Families will not need to fly to visit each other as much because you can see and speak to your children and grand children through the internet. The automobile will have less an impact on society because many people will not have to commute to work. Society will depend more on shopping through the internet than going to the mall. All modes of transportation will suffer as they exist now.

The internet is the engine which will drive economic activity in the future as it is beginning to now. The baby boomer generation is getting older and is retiring at a clip of 7,000 people a day. Most will not have enough money to sustain their retirement as people are living to an older age. Bank saving accounts,company retirement plans,IRAs, life insurance plans will not hold any water as the government continues to devalue the dollar by printing more dollars. A dollar is nothing more than a piece of paper meaning I owe you because our debt is owed to countries around the world. That means a retirement account that is large today will not be enough to live on when you retire. Many retirements where wiped out during this last economic disaster. What are you to do if your retirement account will not be enough to last you 20,30 years into retirement and you then turn toward your children to sustain your living needs?

I have been educating myself as I have seen family and friends suffering in retirement. I have seen many friends lose their jobs as I have. I have not been able to find meaningful employment. Many jobs are doomed to extinction because there will be another seismic change in the economy soon. The amount of cars,airplanes and other modes of transportation will not be produced  because the demand for them will go down. The need to have high rise buildings in the cities will no longer exist because of telecommuting. Employees will be able to live anywhere in the world to do their office job. Meaning that competition will drive down the salary for these telecommuting jobs. The rich will get richer as they are positioning themselves for the future while the number of poor in our society will grow because people will not let go of long held beliefs about going to school. get a good job and save your money for retirement. Financial education is what is needed along with an open mind to change your circumstance. I have opened my online business and my son and I will be opening a new venture in November/December.

What Is My Business?

      What is my business? If you cannot answer this question you do not have a business.  You don’t have a commitment. You don’t have a vision. You don’t have a plan. You don’t feel a responsibility or have a belief in yourself to endeavor and you don’t have a dream. Even though this business is a relatively new business model, it is a business. This business, network marketing, has many of the hall marks of any traditional business. Failure rates are about the same for any new business. You have to invest money, time, sweat, worry, self education, mistakes and undeniable feelings of doubt. You know people that just don’t believe that this business will ever go anywhere or make enough money to have you quit work and fire your boss. Most of them will be family and friends who will doubt your abilities to cope, to become someone different, someone stronger and confident, someone richer in life and wealth.

Why is the network marketing business more difficult than traditional business to become successful? Answer: It isn’t. Not by a long shot. Network marketing is all about you and your commitment to yourself, your family and your dream. As long as you find the right supplier, an ethical company whose goods are desirable and consumable for repeat business and an ethical network marketing company that the business plan is focused on the training and success of every new prospect with front end earnings and back end earnings (residual). The huge difference between opening a business like an auto repair shop and a network business is in a repair shop there are no coaches, no training, and no one concerned if you fail or not. In network marketing there is ton of training, great coaches and many people concerned with your success.

In The Freedom Project, I should say, especially in the Freedom Project you are afforded free training and lifetime free training! Where could you possibly receive free training, coaching, advice or mentoring for the lifetime of your traditional business? No where! You would have to pay for all of your advice and who might you be asking for this advice? Are they in the same business as you with the same commitment to the same business as you? Not likely because those are your competitors. Or are they in business with a commitment to make money from you and not with you?

In baseball, hitting is always the same. Your initial batting stance maybe be different than others (I will call it their personality) but when the pitchers start their motion to throw, the batters hands come down to the proper hitting position and all the mechanics to hit a baseball is the same in all batters. The only difference in the batters is their talent. From the time a professional baseball player starts playing Little League baseball and all the way through to his professional career he is taught to duplicate the mechanics of hitting. The Freedom Project teaches duplication. From the family who is making half a million dollars a year to the brand new prospect. Each person is taught to duplicate the business. You are taught to duplicate a winning process.

Okay Gene, if it is so easy, why isn’t everyone doing it? Well there are a lot of answers to that question. First is all of us were raised and taught to be employees. Get a good education, get a good job, work hard, save money and retire with your savings. Well that model has Phds’ going broke as they try to live on savings lost by the economy and social security. But for us rookies in the Freedom Project my thoughts are you do not believe the Freedom Project with our supplier is a true business. You feel safer with a job and benefits. I felt safe for twenty five years with a job and benefits. I still have nothing, I lost my job ( it wasn’t really mine because I could not take it with me or sell it), I lost my benefits and anything I have saved in the company retirement plans are gone. We rookies and others that have struggled for a while have to look in the mirror and tell the truth to ourselves. Do we treat this network marketing Freedom Project as our own business? If you do you would have a commitment, a vision, a plan, belief in yourself to endeavor and you would have a dream.

What is my business? This is my business to coach and teach the Freedom Project duplication process. I am in it for the long run. I am a Freedom Project builder.

A Valuable Phone Call

Yesterday, I was speaking to Peggy Allen on the phone. Just a casual conversation. The note worthy thing about this conversation is how much you learn listening. There is a few subjects I want to write about but the first one is the most important. I caught myself several times speaking over Peggy’s conversation. What did I have to say that was so very important that I could miss what this woman of twenty eight years in Shaklee and a professional teacher in the personal improvement was saying? Nothing, of course, absolutely nothing. My goal now is to listen with intention to understand, and to ask more questions. Obviously I cannot learn when I am speaking but I will learn if I listen with intention to understand what is being said and to ask questions to clarify what is being said. I have so many resources in The Freedom Project, that are so valuable, that it is time to take my arrogance out of the equation to learn from people like Peggy, Carol, Glenna, the Freedom Mama and Papa.

The second subject I learned in the conversation with Peggy was how she was able through experience, knowledge and enthusiasm was to clarify and fine tune  my dreams. She is guiding me through dreaming of the life I want. Maybe as child it was very simple to dream and wonder, but as an adult it is a difficult task to dream and wonder. Peggy let me tell her about my dreams. She did not laugh at me but laughed with me as she helped me tighten my dream. My vague dream is to speak in front of a large audience with conviction, confidence and having fun with the audience while having fun myself. Peggy said I will do that and dreamed with me. Now my dream has Peggy introducing me in Anaheim at one the Shaklee’s conventions. But she helped me more by giving me more freedom to dream. Now I am speaking to my downline in conventions around the world. So here it is, Peggy has given me a right to dream, a right I always had but through the complications of life and the negativity of others, dreaming and wondering went into hibernation. How exciting is it to dream things that where in my mind impossible? Dreaming was shackled in a dark dungeon in my brain. Peggy and The Freedom Project gave my dreams a little light and a hacksaw to break free. Dreaming is now part of my personality.

Peggy during the conversation was teaching me, solid," how to things." She was telling me how Shaklee set up this wonderful compensation plan. Peggy has a definite plan to help me through my personal problems but she has her own personal problems and one is with her eyes. But what I did not hear from Peggy was more important. Very important. Her enthusiasm and can do attitude never wavered. Peggy is a powerful life force with enough enthusiasm and can do spirit to power a thousand rocket ships through the universe and she was giving all of that to me during this phone call. It is a if God tapped me on the shoulder and told this angel to help me. Alright, so I will listen with intention to learn and understand, ask questions to clarify and remember to listen to what is not being said verbally. This will make me a stronger, more confident person as I move through the Freedom Project.

You Are A Loser!

In The Freedom Project, almost all new people will immediately find that the people around them (i.e. family and friends) will not be as enthusiastic as you are when you decide to embark on a new endeavor, especially in network marketing. Some of the people that are in your life may even hope that you fail. That is OKAY! You must remind yourself that you are changing the way you think, the way you act, the way you look at life, the way you feel about yourself and the way you see everything in your world. Feelings of anxiousness, insecurity, fear, and doubt will be with you because you are doing something against what you have been taught is normal. You are going against the grain.

In my life I have someone that not only would like me to fail but labeled me a loser for trying something different. “It is a scam!” she shouts with wild abandon. “Give me the money you will lose on the scam, you loser!” she exhorts. She continues to explode with many other well worn expletives and rants about all her exhausting research she has done through the years on network marketing. So I think she must be wrong! She convinces me with all her knowledge about network marketing that I am right to continue to do this business. She is so persuasive. I am glad she is in my life otherwise I might not have continued on with network marketing.

What did you see in the program that gave you thought that Freedom Project might work? Did you think that this is something you could do? The program the builder presented you, the premise seemed simple and easy to understand. The numbers looked extremely possible. What was it that made you think and feel that this business was for you? Maybe you did some homework on it and found some very influential people in the business like Warren Buffet and Donald Trump. Or people like President Bill Clinton and Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad, Poor Dad fame promoting network marketing as the best educational tool and business the average person should consider buying into. Let’s look at some of the things we are taught by our parents, schools, friends, family, and people we work for:

1) Go to school and get a good education and then go get a good job.

I would never say not to go to school and receive a good education. You should. But what is your education teaching you? It is teaching you to get a job. A job in which you will never build equity so you can sell your job in case you decide to quit, retire or you get laid off or fired. Our educational system does not teach people about how to acquire money and invest it or better yet, teach you make a residual income for you (financial education).

2) When you have a job you are able to invest into the company’s 401(K) plans and you can start an IRA account so you will have enough money to retire on.

I should give you research on this matter but let us just kick it. Unless you have been hiding under a rock the last few years, you know many people who lost their jobs. So they stop making monthly contributions into the 401(k) plans and IRA accounts. If you were one of the fortunate ones to keep your job, your retirement accounts just don’t look so hot with the financial markets failing. On top of all that great news, social security will effectively make you poor if you decide to retire and live entirely on those benefits.

3) Your parents and teachers said become a professional like a doctor, lawyer, CPA, etc.

These people make lots of money, yes they do. Some even become fabulously rich. But most don’t. They may open their own offices, pay employees, pay insurance, and everything else they need for their professional practice. But when they retire there goes their income, they will have to rely entirely on their investments. Some retired professionals will do well in retirement, many will not. They will either keep working or live in a standard of living that is less than what they are accustom to.

Okay, how will I change from the old ways, get a good education and then get a good job and then invest in the company’s retirement plans or become a professional and make lots of money. Simple but not easy - start a business. Start a business that you could develop a good income but more importantly a residual income. A residual income that continues paying you whether you work or not and will always keep up with inflation. How does residual income keep up with inflation as opposed to investing in the market? In the stock market your investments may out perform the inflation rate but because the market is cyclical in nature, the market will suffer a let down and you could lose so much of what you have earned through mutual funds, stocks, etc. Residual income, which is the services or goods that are produced by your supplier, is sold at current market rates. This is where you derive your residual income.

The question remains, am I a loser? I could be a loser even with the Freedom Project. To win at anything you need to put your armor on. You need to strengthen your defenses and you do this by learning everything you can about what you want to be. Then when someone calls you a loser you will look at them and see that they are the ones that are losing. You’re winning because you educated yourself to what the answers are. Your education supports your beliefs, desires and wants. Your education gives you answers that are stuck in your head and heart and gives you confidence to know the blowhard is wrong.

A Beautiful Person with a Beautiful Heart

There are many things that excite a prospect when they decide to become their own boss in the Freedom Project, from the ability to making an income, not punching a clock, to making new friends and a more positive lifestyle. I am sure that God noticed I needed someone special to teach me to duplicate in the Freedom Project. God knew I needed somebody that would have enough empathy, knowledge and talent to let me come in to the business in a slow positive way in order to change my life. Another builder may have thought I don’t have enough time to mess around with a person that is not financially ready to go right now. Not Peggy. She has shown me the same enthusiasm she would if she brought in a Super Gold builder.

Now, I feel not only my own pressures to become the person I want to become through the Freedom Project. Although Peggy is not pressuring me in anyway, I feel it is necessary to do very well in The Freedom Project because I know Peggy Allen has high hopes for me. I pledge now to impress Peggy Allen. She teaches and trains from outside sources, she uses other team members to describe and teach their experiences about what works or doesn't. If your open she will give you the opportunity to be successful. I think she is a great upline leader.


Since I am new to the Freedom Project I don't have enough experience to tell anyone what makes a good upline leader. So here is the question; in your opinion what makes a great upline leader as opposed to just a good upline leader? Please leave your comments. Thank you!

Feeling Down Today

My day started out with great anticipation because my daughters came to visit, have dinner and belatedly celebrate my son's twentieth birthday. My girls were great and we all had fun visiting. Then they had to leave because Danielle has an interview with Costco tomorrow. After my girls left, I checked to see if I received any submissions for my Mini Office Outlet business. None. I have put a lot of work in posting free ads everywhere. I knew there would be a slight chance in picking up submissions this way but I have to try. I only need to find a few serious builders. I started posting ads on September 15th. So anticipation fell way to disappointment.


So what do I do to get out of my funk? Well, for my daughters, I made a plan to go see them on Thursday. Maybe I'll stay there for the weekend. I can, you know, I am unemployed and I can take my business with me  because it is all internet and phones. The Freedom Project gives me that ability. For the disappointment of not receiving submission for almost two weeks, I'll reset my mind by reading The Success Principles by Jack Canfield and review the Freedom Projects Training Center on how to post online ads. I'll look at my dream sheet and review my plans to achieve those dreams! That will put me in the right mind. Also, writing this blog helps me keep my ship on the right course because it forces me to explain to myself what I need to do.

Practicing leaving messages

Tonight,with all my kids out, I am practicing leaving messages to family and friends that I know are not home. I am following the phone message script provided by the Freedom Project team. So far so good. Now I will wait for their critiques. Family and friends are good to practice on because most of them will try to help and some will enjoy being brutally honest. But that is great. It will help me become smooth on the phone. I want to show confidence and sincerity when I speak whether it is to a live being or an answering machine. I want the prospect to know that I know what I am talking about and not just some newbie trying to fake it. It's my business I better be good.

Learning In The Freedom Project

Recently, my friend, Lisa, had this conversation with her son, Jason.

I had just come home from work and I only had a half hour to

pull my art stuff together, get myself together and leave for class.

Unfortunately this didn’t give me much time with Jason. While

I was packing my son asked me why did I have to go to art class?

I explained I wanted to learn more about painting. Jason said mom

you are already a good painter. Why do you have to learn more?

You already know how to paint! I said because I needed to learn

more about painting. There's always new stuff and I enjoy painting. 

I told him even the teacher takes classes and workshops (she's an

artist too)so she can learn more and gain more experience and
progress as an artist. I told him I want to get better.

This is a wonderful illustration of the need to learn more of anything we desire to become better at. I desire to become the best in network marketing and in The Freedom Project. Everything you and I have done since the first initial call from a Freedom Project member was learn about The Freedom Project’s compensation, mentoring model, promotion of Shaklee’s products and nuisances of The Freedom Project. You and I are learning how to read scripts and how to bring prospects through the Freedom Projects pipeline. But you have to learn more and more about yourself.

Peggy, my up line coach and a great one she is, is having us learn more about teaching ourselves how to think-successfully. She is working us through her boot camp learning from Jack Canfield’s The Success Principles, In network marketing you and I are making fundamental changes. We are saying to a skeptical world, to our family, friends and ourselves that there is another way. We are breaking away from conformity. We are saying to ourselves that our view of how the world works no longer satisfies our own new world view. We believe that network marketing is the better way to change our life’s course. Network marketing and in particular, The Freedom Project is our Life Launch(Hudson and Mclean,1995). In the forward of Life Launch, Hudson and Mclean explain that Life Launch requires fresh vision, new plans, and inner courage. Fresh vision, new plans, and inner courage is required of you when you are making a fundamental change in your life. This is what you and I are doing when we decided to sign on with the Freedom Project.

Now fear is creeping in. Will I be successful? How will I prospect people into my business when I never recruited anybody to do anything? Am I wasting money? My answer for myself is I will be successful, no matter how hard or long it takes. Napoleon Bonaparte said that the best trait a soldier can have is endurance. Endurance is needed not courage or anything else. Why endurance and how do we attain endurance? Because the road is long and there are many distractions, detractors and roadblocks. How do we attain endurance? Learning is the answer. To read self help books like,The Success Principle and the magazine I bought, Networking Times. Networking Times is wonderful because it is an easy read and when I doubt myself the articles pick me up.

In order to change our thinking we have to learn how to think to make those changes. A fundamental change for me is to read. I am not a reader but to be successful in the Freedom Project I will become a reader. I want to change.

Finding A Way

Thursday,September 9,2010 I joined the Freedom Project and that was just great. Problem is I don't have the money to become a Shaklee member. I wanted to come in as a Gold Ambassador(Gold Builder) which is where anyone starting their Freedom Project business would want to come in as. I want to come in as a gold builder because of all the benefits that Shaklee provides. So next week around September 30th I will become a Gold Ambassador(Gold Builder).


How will I do it? Well, I want to. I really want to and will become successful in this business so I will do what it takes to make my goals. Being a Gold Ambassador(Gold Builder) is what I want now. So I went through what I do have. I had a very small IRA account. That IRA account as hard as it may try will never amount to much especially a retirement for me. But that IRA account will help me get moving in this business. So I am stoked and ready to roll! I will be a Gold Ambassador(Gold Builder) next week!

Stay At Home Dad

On September 11, 2009 I became a stay at home dad. Thanks to the U.S. economy and our fabulous leaders in government I became unemployed. Now my kids get to see me every day on the computer, on the phone and leaving to go find that needle in the haystack job that everyone is competing for. While the bills are backing up and the kids need shoes, clothes and have other needs that require money I wait every two weeks for that huge unemployment check. I also found out my temper is getting shorter each day and my anxiety is growing. Sounds like I have it made.

Funny thing though, I like being at home and getting a check in the mail. This really works if only my checks were much larger. I like taking my kids to school. I like seeing them when they come home. It is much easier to monitor their homework and other responsibilities when I am with them. I love walking with them and conversing with them about their day and what is on their minds. I like cooking dinners for them. I really love being part of their lives. Being a stay at home dad is great.

My children saw this as they were growing up. They woke up and Dad was gone. I would come home usually around seven p.m. That meant they saw me for about an hour and a half because they were little and had to go to school the next day. There is not much you could do in an hour and a half but I tried to spend all that time with them. All that time commuting and working just does not seem worth losing being with my kids as they grew up.

My circumstances changed when my employer decided that they had to lose some of their employee salaries because business was slow. I won that lotto. I was out a job but quickly was hired by a LTL trucking firm. My hours changed. I started my day leaving home at midnight so I could begin the morning shift at 2 a.m. As supervisors we were required to work ten hours. I made it home at 2 p.m. Instead of going home I would drive directly to my children’s school, sleep in my car and wait for my kids to get out of school. Then I could maximize my time with them. I would stay up with them until about eight p.m. when I would have to go to bed.

The sum of all that work and commuting was no time for my family, weight gain, and flipping my car over off the freeway, rolling down an embankment and never seeming to get ahead and provide a better life for my children.

Being a stay at home dad is much better than being called into a meeting with my bosses (not mentors) to explain how I am going to improve drivers’ productivity or dock productivity. Cutting cost to save money usually involves laying off people or cutting the number of hours they work. My last job required the supervisors to do more clerical work as the clerical personnel were being laid off. That meant upset employees. What did I get for telling my group of employees that raises are frozen and hours were being cut? More work for me, longer hours and not receiving a raise for three years. My children are young adults and two are teenagers in high school. They are very busy with their lives.

My kids, as all kids do, want to spend most of their time with friends. But I get to see them and plan things with them now that the economy is in the dumps. There is a silver lining in everything.

All of this taught me a lesson. I let employers dictate my time, my wage and my life. None of it was very good. I knew but never acted upon it. I knew that I need to take control of my life. But it took Peggy and Rose of the Freedom Project to call upon me to make that change. As soon as they taught me what their program was all about I knew this is what I needed and desired. Now I can become the director of my life. To be the dad I so much want to be. To be rewarded for my efforts. To build a life that my children and their children will be able to enjoy.

No, That Will Never Work! (Don’t Waste Your Time)

Albert Einstein: Most of us take Einstein's name as synonymous with genius, but he didn't always show such promise. Einstein did not speak until he was four and did not read until he was seven, causing his teachers and parents to think he was mentally handicapped, slow and anti-social. Eventually, he was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. It might have taken him a bit longer, but most people would agree that he caught on pretty well in the end, winning the Nobel Prize and changing the face of modern physics (onlinecollege.org).

Abraham Lincoln:  While today he is remembered as one of the greatest leaders of our nation, Lincoln's life wasn't so easy. In his youth he went to war a captain and returned a private (if you're not familiar with military ranks, just know that private is as low as it goes.) Lincoln didn't stop failing there, however. He started numerous failed businesses and was defeated in numerous runs he made for public office (onlinecollege.org).

Jerry Seinfeld:  Just about everybody knows who Seinfeld is, but the first time the young comedian walked on stage at a comedy club, he looked out at the audience, froze and was eventually jeered and booed off of the stage. Seinfeld knew he could do it, so he went back the next night, completed his set to laughter and applause, and the rest is history (onlinecollege.org).

My little story is my mom and dad always built me, my brother and sisters’ confidence up. Nevertheless, I was a shy kid. In ninth grade I wanted to be the quarterback on the football team. When many of my teammates heard that I was going to try out for the position. A couple of the more popular guys decided to tell me that I would never be the quarterback because one of those two guys would win the position. They harassed me and teased me so much I started hearing it from everybody, “don’t waste your time,” so and so will be the quarterback for the team. I was heartbroken. I felt I had already lost the position. My dad, my great dad, told me that I haven’t even tried out for the position, so how could I have lost the quarterback position? My dad explained to me that there would always be roadblocks and detractors for the things we want most. Well, I tried out and won the quarterback position as the first stringer. Lesson learned.

No, That Will Never Work! Don’t waste your time! You are stupid to fall for that scam! Is this what you have heard from family and friends? First thing is take a look at how successful they are. They may have a great job but they may be up to their necks in debt. In this economy, like me, some may be unemployed. So really who is living the biggest scam perpetuated on man? People go to work every day and all their time and efforts are leveraged by the people at the top. They will never, working at their job, make more than their President or CEO. That is a pyramid. The military, every business and corporation uses this business model. This is not true with The Freedom Project.

The question always is; is this a pyramid? You answer in the affirmative. “Absolutely,

Let me explain the difference between the Freedom Project and traditional business.” In a traditional business or corporation the people below the President or CEO will never, working at their job, make more than their President or CEO. In The Freedom Project though, your success depends on your desires and dreams. So it is possible and it happens all the time that a person who decides to affiliate themselves with The Freedom Project could and often does make more money than the people that joined The Freedom Project before them.

In your job or career, you may be promoted but fat chance you will ever attain the position of President or CEO. So why listen to them? Your family and friends are brainwashed into thinking that being employed is nirvana. Their jobs are never guaranteed. The job they hold does not belong to them so when they leave, get laid off or fired they cannot sell their position to the next employee. The job they do, they do not own. Top that off, all the retirement plans are market influenced. What happens to all that money you were counting on evaporates due to market fluctuations just as you are about to retire?

Your family and friends and most of the people today are taught by their parents and schools to be employees. Go to school, receive a good education, find a well-paying job, marry, buy a house, save your money for retirement. What are they teaching? Your family, friends and the school system is teaching people to join the rat race. But you are different and it is you I want to be partners with. You think differently. It is because you were open-minded enough to listen to something that is out of the norm of usual everyday life. You were willing to let a person teach you something different, out of the norm. The Freedom Project.

Now the question is how are you going to handle your family and friends? My dad said, “There will be roadblocks and detractors.” First, you must remember that your family and friends love you and are looking out for your best interest. Now, that is as far as that goes. You must take an objective look at their situation. Are they free to do whatever they want or do they have to be at their jobs Monday morning? Are they saying things like TGIF(Thank God it’s Friday)? First thing is take a look at how successful they are. Is their situation something you would really like to duplicate? Ok, do not put your family and or friends on defense. Give them affirmative answers like, “Yes you’re right.” “I never thought of it that way.” “Wow, what was I thinking?” This will make them feel smart and you will not question their long held entrenched beliefs with your new found dreams and aspirations. There is a world of people out there that is waiting for you to show them something different. Don’t work with negative people, they think they are always right.

Now how do you handle your own feelings? After all, the people you love and trust are telling you network marketing is a scam and it will never work for you. The answer is to learn. Learn about network marketing and why it is over fifty years old. Learn why many large corporations are gravitating towards network marketing over traditional marketing. Find the people that have been successful in the network marketing business and follow their advice. Look, many of the people who complain about network marketing business are: a person that thought the network business is a get rich quick endeavor, may have not affiliated themselves with the right team of network marketers or someone that does not believe they have the drive to make network marketing work.  Understand that it will take three to five years to make your business successful enough to quit your day job. Give or take a year due to your drive, talents, ability and aspirations.

The Freedom Project is different than most network marketing business models. The mentors are exactly that, coaches. They teach others to teach others and they teach others. The Freedom Project team of coaches want to see you succeed as opposed to an employer who just needs to leverage your time and efforts to make his business profitable and pay you a wage. When the employer does not need you, your job is terminated and you are out the door. Contrast that to The Freedom Project coaches who will teach you to develop your own business and will never fire you because you are your own President and CEO.

Lesson: Don’t let others put limits on what your abilities, aspirations, talent and drive can do.

My Dream Journey (Excited)

           In any network marketing business, the business owner that presents their business will try to create excitement in their prospect. In my case, I knew a bit of what may happen as soon as I found out that I was being presented the Freedom Project plan. The difference was I became so excited that a network marketer had contacted me! As I said in my last blog, I thought and still think I am able to do this type of marketing business. So thank you Rose and thank you Peggy!


Big question, how excited am I? Extremely excited! I want to know everything that can be known about the Freedom Project, and about all the successful Freedom Project coaches. Just let me have it all so I can run as fast as I can into my own financial freedom. But things take time. I know my up line does not like waking up in the wee hours of the morning or staying up late into the early morning hours dreaming with me of what kind of business owner I will be or how much I will be able to earn or how much time I will be able to enjoy with my family giving them the best I can give them and the best of me. So being enthused is not a problem with me.


Of course, even though I am excited about my new opportunity, I still wanted to research this endeavor. I explained to my girlfriend what I was looking into. She immediately went to the internet to see if this was a scam. My girlfriend was impressed to find none of the internet sites (she checked a lot of sites) proved to show that the Freedom Project was a scam. She found there was no compelling reason not to go forward and listen to Peggy’s and Rose’s follow up phone calls. She even agreed to become my training buddy. What I found was that Robert T. Kiyosaki of Rich Dad, Poor Dad fame endorsed network marketing as did President Bill Clinton and many other notables. I also found that the Freedom Project supplier has been in business over fifty years and the supplier has been in the Green Business before that name became a moniker for a an environmental concerned society. My conclusion is I have an opportunity to make my life better, so I’ll do the business! Yeah!
